Terms of use
Last updated: 13 October 2026. These terms apply to the skiptv app on Apple TV, iPad, iPhone and Mac, made by Martijn Klomp, an independent developer in the Netherlands. In these terms, 'we' and 'us' refer to him. Apple's standard licence agreement for App Store apps also applies to the app. Your mandatory rights as a consumer always remain in force. This is a translation; if it differs from the Dutch version, the Dutch version applies.
1. What skiptv is
skiptv is a media player. The app plays streams from a playlist you add yourself. skiptv does not contain or supply any channels, movies, series, playlists or content subscriptions, and has no ties to providers of such services.
2. Your playlist, your responsibility
You add a playlist yourself from a provider of your own choosing. You are responsible for that playlist and for what you watch with it.
- Only use skiptv with content that you or your provider have the rights to.
- We do not check the contents of playlists and cannot see them.
- If a stream, the TV guide or watch again does not work, this is usually down to your provider. We cannot change that.
3. Third-party services
Some features work with a service from another company and with your own account or key for it: TMDB for artwork and ratings, OpenSubtitles for subtitles, ChatGPT by OpenAI for full-sentence search and for Skip, and Apple's iCloud for sync. The terms of the provider of each service apply to it. If such a service changes or stops, the related feature in skiptv may change or be removed.
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
4. Right of use
You may use skiptv on the Apple devices that belong to your Apple Account, in accordance with the App Store rules. You may not copy, resell or take apart the app, except where the law allows it.
5. Free and Pro
skiptv is free to download and contains no ads. Some features are part of skiptv Pro, which you buy in the app as a one-time purchase or as a yearly subscription. The current price is shown in the app. A yearly subscription renews until you cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms.
With Pro you can link your own TMDB and ChatGPT accounts. Those accounts are yours; Pro does not entitle you to any service from TMDB or OpenAI, and those parties may apply their own limits and terms.
6. Availability
We do our best to make skiptv work well, but do not promise that the app will always work without errors. We may change, add or remove features. If this makes the app clearly less useful to you, you can cancel a yearly subscription before the next period starts.
7. Liability
We are not liable for the contents of playlists, for third-party services or for damage caused by using content for which no rights exist. Otherwise, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app, unless we acted intentionally or with gross negligence. These terms do not limit your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. Changes
We may change these terms. The latest version is always on this page, with the date.
9. Who we are, governing law and contact
skiptv is made by Martijn Klomp, an independent developer in the Netherlands. Questions, complaints or comments? Email skiptv@bitma.nl. These terms are governed by Dutch law. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.
