Defend
One extra die.
With at least two fighters the defender rolls three dice here. The best two count.

Tactical city conquest
Turn by turn, on the real map of your own city. Neighbourhoods are territories, districts are continents. The dice decide, you choose where.
A game in Zwolle.
How it works
The deal
The server shuffles and deals. What is left over is neutral, with two fighters. Landmarks are not dealt to anyone; they start neutral with three.
Placement
Every neighbourhood starts with one. You add two per neighbourhood yourself, with nobody watching. Then everything is revealed at once.
Attack
Highest against highest, then the second. A tie goes to the defender. When the last fighter falls, the neighbourhood is yours.
Districts
Hold every neighbourhood of a district and you get extra fighters every turn. Everyone can tell by the hatching, so everyone comes to take it.
Move
At the end of your turn you move once, through an unbroken chain of your own neighbourhoods. Bridges count when both sides are yours.
Try it
Blue is yours. Tap a neighbourhood next to it and roll. You always leave one fighter behind.
Pick a neighbourhood to attack.
Street cards
If you took something in your turn, you draw a card at the end. Trade in a set for fighters. If one of your own neighbourhoods is on a card, two more land there.
The megaphone counts as any symbol. More than five cards is not allowed.

Build up
As long as it is yours, you get one extra fighter every turn. Small, and it adds up.

Attack
The first fighter you lose in an attack each turn does not count. The fight then says: saved.

Goals
You draw a mission nobody sees. Complete it in your own turn and you win.
Every neighbourhood yours. Neutral ones may stay.
Everyone picks one in secret. Hold them all at once.
After round ten the map is counted. Neighbourhoods, districts, landmarks. The last round runs in reverse: whoever started closes it.
Opponents
Just the two of you? Then City Hall plays along. Grey, never attacks, and always in the way.
Live
60 seconds per turn.
Everyone at the table at once. Public games are always Live. Quick play, and you are seated within a minute.
Take it easy
24 hours per turn.
With friends, in between everything else. You get a notification when it is your turn. A game takes weeks, and that is the point.
Playing together
All of you on the sofa. The board is on tv, everyone plays on their own phone. A board game on the table, except nobody has to tidy up.
Zwolle
The host sets up the table and shares the code. Whoever has it pulls up a chair. Hosting comes with the full version; joining is free.
The host chooses Screen Mirroring on the iPhone and then the tv. That goes over AirPlay: an Apple TV, or a tv that supports AirPlay.
On tv the dice roll and the fighters walk. Your mission and your street cards stay on your phone: the tv only shows what everyone may know.
iPhone Duo
Fold it open. The map is twice as wide.
Closed you play as on any iPhone. Open, the city gets the room, with your turn beside it.
Cities
Every neighbourhood is a real one from the CBS statistics, every bridge a real bridge. What lies across the water you reach only by a bridge or a ferry.
